 Reverend Tim Bohm:

In my life before ministry I have been a D.J., driver’s education teacher for semis, an executive for Target, and a grocery manager for Meijer.  I grew up with the wrong ideas of what morality was until in 1989 when a bunch of us drunks were challenged by a church softball team for their ball field.

After the game, they invited us to practice with them and play for their church team next month, and about five or six of us did just that.  People made room of the roster for us and Coach Mike treated us like equals no matter how we showed up.  After our first game Mike died of cancer he was fighting and none of us kids knew it.  It was the first glimpse of Christ like living to the end we had ever seen.

At that time Steve who was just starting to do discipleship felt the Lord tugging at him to choose me to help.  He helped me through more issues then I can even begin to list but always from a biblical perspective.  He spent time with me like Jesus did with His disciples.  Steve taught me from the Word while also displaying it.  In 1992, I became a follower of Christ and stumbled along for years but Steve never gave up on me.  Steve and the one who disciple him, (another Steve) were the example of Christ to me for so long they became family, so much that we named our first-born son after them.

As a Pastor since June 2009, I have worked at a Homeless Shelter and taught addiction recovery classes, pastored at Moline Missionary, and now currently serve here at Bethany Missionary Church.
Please come check us out.  1 Thessalonians 2:8 We loved you so much that we were delighted to share with you not only the gospel of God but our lives as well, because you had become so dear to us.
